Reveal Your Hidden Features with Facial Liposuction
Diet and exercise go a long way to prevent unwanted fat on the body. However, unwanted fat around the face is often difficult to eliminate with diet and exercise alone. Facial fat deposits are particularly problematic because they can dramatically decrease the visibility of attractive facial features like the chin and cause unwanted fat to gather around the neck. Fortunately, Dr. Potozkin offers facial liposuction to East Bay patients who seek to eliminate unwanted fat around the face.
Facial liposuction can be performed on several areas of the face and neck. Despite the comparatively small amount of fat that is removed during this procedure, the results can appear more dramatic than in body liposuction. During facial liposuction, Dr. Potozkin will inject the affected area with a saline liquid. This liquid will spread the fat apart to make it easier to remove. Next, he will insert a thin tube, called a cannula, into an area of the face that is not very noticeable. Once the cannula is inserted, the targeted fat deposits will be removed from the face with a suction procedure.
A patient's recovery time from facial liposuction often varies. Most patients can expect to be fully recovered within several weeks after undergoing the procedure, and the removed fat cells will not return.

Like facial liposuction, fat transfer can be used to dramatically enhance the look of the face. Dr. Potozkin is one of the few East Bay physicians that perform this advanced procedure. Using your body's own tissue, he can restore, smooth, and firm areas such as laugh lines, lips, and cheeks.
The fat transfer procedure is performed in our office. During the procedure, Dr. Potozkin will take a small amount of fat from one area of your body (such as your thighs or abdomen) and use it to plump up creased areas or to enhance your lips or cheeks. He will generally use slightly more than you expect to see at first in order to accommodate absorption by your body. Because we use your body's own tissue, this procedure is non-allergenic, safer, and may sustain longer-lasting results than collagen.
The recovery time for the fat transfer procedure is relatively short. Any swelling, bruising, or redness should disappear after 48 hours; until then, we recommend you avoid exposure to the sun. You will enjoy the beautiful, more natural effects of fat transfer for three to six months.
